Master of the punchball

He popped this moments later. He cried from the balloon snapping his hand and when we asked if he was ok, through his tears he mumbled "I want another one".

Look mommy! it's christmas!

We were playing in Ollie's room when I looked out the window and saw snow. I said "look outside!" and when he did he said "look mommy, it's christmas!" Today is December 29th.
The chickens were just as surprised as we were. We found they liked eating snowballs.
It snowed all afternoon and into the evening. Ollie only came back into the house after playing for 2 hours. Thanks Aunt Courtney for the snowboots and snowpants!

This is when it just started to snow.

Project Hounds PART DUEX

So this was our second year of project hounds. Last year the group helped to take down the getto looking porch. As most of our neighbors are project hounders I'm sure they were very happy to be a part of changing that ugly eyesore! I did try my best to mask it with cute flower planters but as Jacob would say "it's like putting lipstick on a pig."

And now we have the second effort from our dear friends! They did a lovely job painting our house. Our goal of having the brightest house and complete street domination has come true. Forget porch lights because this baby puts off it's own kilowatts at night.

Some photos during the project, notice the white primer porch

Doesn't sound too bad

Ollie was sharing his dinner request with Grandma & Grandpa Stiles on the phone tonight. . . She also thought spaghetti tacos sounded good. I wouldn't be surprise if she made it for him next time she's in town.

More Remodeling

We're getting the house ready to be painted by our awesome neighbors via projecthounds.org Soon this faded green house will be freshly painted into a Syracuse Street awesomeness house. We picked up our primer from the friendly people at MetroPaint . Metro Paint offers a high quality, extremely affordable, environmentally friendly, 100 percent recycled latex paint. We just need to decide on our final paint color. Since our shingles are a light green we've narrowed down our choice to Sweet Corn Yellow or Desert khaki. Personally I'd like to see a burnt pumpkin color.

Jake and I started scraping old paint, removing storm windows and caulking holes. Note to all of you who might want to do the same, make sure the tube of caulk is a paintable caulk before you go and use the whole thing up on your cracks. I started priming the windows but soon lost interest, I blame it on the incredible weather we've been having.

Ollie has taken advantage of the screenless windows to share his dinner with the chickens. The girls seem to love that we've let them take over the side yard (we've never used it), it's shaded, quiet and now all spider have been eaten. They produce about 2 eggs a day which we gladly share with our neighbors, 2 eggs a day really adds up fast.

Cozy Pajamas

Ollie spent the evening in his new pajamas made by his Grandma Lupton. They're covered in penguins and have extra warm love sewed into them. Thanks Nana!
