Seattle Mini Vacation Part One

Recently some friends offered up their house in Seattle for the weekend while they were on vacation.  We were happy to take them up on the offer and treated it like a little vacation with plans to act like tourist visiting the Space Needle, Fish Market and Aquarium.  I can't tell you how relaxing and how much fun we had!

The first day we went out to have breakfast at the University Square shopping district.  We also wanted to pop into Something Silver to say hello since I have jewelry there.  It was awesome to walk around the corner and see Dolcetti Jewelry listed on their A-frame!  Don't let this photo fool you, the place was packed full of christmas shoppers.  I was amazed by how many families with babies were walking around.  Later I found out that the Starbucks there is the #1 selling Starbucks IN THE NATION.  Come to think of it everyone walking around had a cup of coffee in their hands.

Here's Jacob and Ollie messing around in front of Boom, we just had a great breakfast of Salmon Eggs Benedict and lemon crepes!  I highly recommend it especially if you have kids.

They have great animal sculptures at this shopping area, lots of cows and turtle doing things.

Here's Jacob smiling because he is right and spacially gifted.  As I kept asking him 'are you sure you know where the fish market is?' he kept saying 'yes'.  As soon as we walked around the corner...well, you'll see in the next couple of photos.

I made these photos extra large just for Grandma.  She loves seafood and we even looked into sending her a box just for Christmas.  But you know what Grandma loves more than seafood?  It's saving money and she would have also thought a $50 charge to put the fish in a box of ice was expensive too.  That didn't include the cost of the fish and the shipping charges!  We'll know next time to bring a cooler and ship it ourselves.  The seafood was very impressive.  Ollie is going through a phase right now where he's fasinated by sea animals so this was extra fun for him.  We even got to see the famous throwing of the fish and a few crabs.

Three different ways to hold your brother

What goes well with pie?

What better way to finish off a bath than with some peach pie and a new pair of super soft pajamas.

Christmas 2010

Here are a few photos from Christmas morning.  Thank you to everyone who sent gifts and well wishes.  We are very grateful to have so much love in our lives from our family and friends.

The next pictures are of our delicious Christmas lunch at Brad and Annie's house.  She made this AMAZING cornbread stuffing (a specialty of Brad's father) which tasted like butter rolled in cornbread.  It was sooooo good!  They also made fluffy mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes & yams and perfectly browned dinner rolls.  We made the turkey, ham, green beans and gravy.  The gravy was loaded with butter and wine.
