Baby Leo joins our lives

Jacob and I are really surprised to hear ourselves say this, and a little cautious, but we think this time around may be a little easier than the first time. And what I mean by that is we don't have the anxiety that we did when we were new parents. We've realized we don't have to stress over all the decisions that come with having a baby like: which brand of diapers, bath or sleep, is it ok to wake him up, is it ok to make noise when he's sleeping, and all the little things that can add up fast. So far so good and seriously it's only been one week but we look at each other and I know we can see how much fun each other is having.

A picture of Ollie flexing his super incredible big brother muscles.
We've noticed he's been sensitive with his feelings this last week and if you know Ollie you know he's already a sensitive little guy. I'm trying to find ways for him to express these new feelings. And as always we treat him like the great little boy that he is.

This is little Leo before we put him in the car seat for a quick errand across town.

And this is him after, he's just a little pile of baby mush when he's asleep.

Here's a baby Leo cam video:

Leo is here!

Leopold was born May 14, 2010 weighing 9-1/2 pounds and 21-1/2" long. He's been a really good eater, taking to breastfeeding right away and actually gaining weight while in the hospital.
Mommy had a bit of a hard recovery but the pain meds are finally figured out and Daddy has been taking really good care of her.

Maternity Photos

It's 4am and I just cleaned out my medicine cabinet, I must be nesting.

Here are some more maternity photos from our session with Karen of Snapdragon Imagery. Besides being a wonderful friend & mother she is a very talented photographer. We had a great sunny day in Cathedral Park under the St. Johns Bridge.

I've offically lost the battle with stretch marks this last week. I really thought I was going to keep them at bay with all the Shea Butter I use but I think their secret weapon (Polyhydramnios) is like an A-bomb you just can't win against. Damn it, I hope this kid grows up to one day give his mother a nice mother's day present like cosmetic laser stretch mark removal.

Thanks to Karen for the maternity photos I'll be posting more this coming week.
